Comprehensive Oil Change & Preventative Maintenance

An Oil Change involves draining old, depleted motor oil and replacing it with high-quality synthetic or conventional oil, along with a new premium filter to ensure your engine runs smoothly. At J-Mac Complete Car Care, a standard service includes a Complimentary Digital Inspection, topping off critical fluids, checking tire pressure, and providing a detailed health report of your vehicle’s most vital systems.

Dark or Gritty Oil

Fresh oil is amber; black, gritty oil indicates it is saturated with contaminants and is abrasive to your engine.

Engine Knocking

Lack of proper lubrication leads to metal-on-metal contact and increased engine noise.

FAQs

  • How often should I get an oil change in Utah?

In Utah’s climate—with hot summers, cold winters, and dusty conditions—we typically recommend every 3,000–5,000 miles for conventional oil and 5,000–7,500 miles for full synthetic. If you do a lot of short trips, towing, or stop-and-go driving, you may need more frequent changes. We’re happy to check your vehicle and give a recommendation based on how you drive.

  • How much does an oil change cost?

$89.99 plus tax for full synthetic oil up to 5 quarts. Each additional quart is $9.99. Our oil change service typically includes:

    • Draining old oil and replacing it with fresh oil
    • Installing a new oil filter
    • Checking and topping off essential fluids
    • A quick visual inspection of key components (belts, hoses, etc.)
    • Resetting your maintenance reminder
  • What happens if I drive with low oil?

Driving with low oil can cause serious engine damage. Oil lubricates and cools engine components—without enough of it, parts can overheat, wear out quickly, or even seize. If your oil level is low or your warning light comes on, it’s important to address it right away.

  • Do you top off other fluids during the service?

Yes. During every oil change, we check and top off key fluids such as coolant, windshield washer fluid, brake or power steering fluid as needed.

  • Will you inspect my vehicle and let me know if anything else needs attention?

Absolutely. We perform a quick visual inspection during your visit and will let you know if we spot anything that may need attention soon. We’ll never pressure you—just give you honest information so you can make the best decision.

  • Do you use high-quality oil and filters?

Yes, we use high-quality oils and premium filters that meet or exceed manufacturer specifications. Our goal is to protect your engine and help extend its life.

  • What does it mean if my oil light comes on?

Your oil light could indicate low oil level, low oil pressure, or a potential engine issue. This isn’t something to ignore—continuing to drive could cause serious damage. We recommend stopping safely and having your vehicle checked as soon as possible.

  • How long does an oil change take?

Most oil changes can be completed in about 30–45 minutes. Depending on our schedule and your vehicle, we often offer quick turnaround or same-day service.
